🏔 My Background
I’m originally from Alaska, USA, where I spent many years enjoying hiking, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. Today, I proudly call Asahikawa, Hokkaido home. My wife was born here, and our family is deeply connected to this community.
🎓 Education
I studied at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), where I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Languages with a focus on Japanese. My studies provided a strong foundation in language learning, communication, and cross-cultural understanding — skills that continue to influence my teaching today.
📚 My Teaching Approach
I believe learning should be structured, encouraging, and practical. Every student has different goals and strengths, so I tailor each lesson to match your level and needs. My goal is not only to teach information, but to help you think clearly, communicate confidently, and make steady progress.
🚴 Life Outside the Classroom
Outside of teaching, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. You might see me riding my fat tire bike around Asahikawa or walking along the beach in Rumoi. I also enjoy hiking, fishing, photography, and collecting unique antiques.
